KYBELLA — INJECTABLES
Overview

What kybella does, in plain language.

Kybella is deoxycholic acid — the same molecule the body uses to break down dietary fat — injected in a grid pattern under the chin to reduce submental fullness.

It works over a series. Fat cells in the treatment zone are cleared over weeks and do not return. For the right anatomy, it's a genuine alternative to surgery.

Kybella is best for a well-defined pocket of submental fat in a patient with reasonable skin quality. It is not a treatment for loose skin or for weight loss.

A consultation determines whether this treatment is right for you — every plan begins with a conversation and a physician assessment.

What it treats
  • Submental (under-chin) fullness
  • Mild jawline blurring caused by submental fat
Includes
  • Submental (double chin)
  • 2–4 sessions typical
  • Swelling for several days
The visit

In the chair.

Duration
20–30 minutes.
Comfort
Ice or topical numbing before injections; the anesthetic mixed in helps too.
What it feels like
A gridded template is placed over the treatment area, then small injections are given across the pattern. Expect noticeable swelling for several days afterward.
Results & downtime

Honest timelines.

When results appear
Contour change over 6–8 weeks per session.
How long they last
Long-lasting — treated fat cells are gone.
Downtime
Notable swelling for 3–7 days; occasional bruising. Plan a quiet week.
Sessions
2–4 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart is typical.
Aftercare

Simple steps that protect the result.

  • Cold compresses in short intervals for the first 24 hours.
  • Sleep slightly elevated on the first night.
  • Skip strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
  • Expect a firm feeling as swelling settles — this is normal.
