FRAXEL DUAL — RESURFACING
Overview

What fraxel dual does, in plain language.

Fraxel Dual is a fractional laser with two wavelengths: 1927 nanometers, which targets sun damage and pigment, and 1550, which reaches deeper to improve texture, fine lines, and superficial scarring.

Fractional means the laser treats microscopic columns of skin at a time, leaving healthy tissue in between to speed healing. It's the balance between real resurfacing and manageable downtime that has made Fraxel the gold standard for two decades.

Results build. Most patients do a series of three to five sessions spaced a month apart, then maintain with a single treatment once or twice a year.

A consultation determines whether this treatment is right for you — every plan begins with a conversation and a physician assessment.

What it treats
  • Sun spots and diffuse hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines around the mouth and eyes
  • Rough, dull, or textured skin
  • Superficial acne scarring and old surgical scars
  • Melasma — with a gentler, tailored protocol
Includes
  • 1927nm for pigment/sun damage
  • 1550nm for texture and lines
  • Series of 3–5 typical
  • 3–5 days of downtime

In the chair.

Results & downtime

Honest timelines.

When results appear
Glow at 1–2 weeks; deeper change over 1–3 months as collagen rebuilds.
How long they last
Improvements are long-lasting; maintenance once or twice yearly.
Downtime
3–5 days of redness, mild swelling, and a sandpaper texture as skin sheds.
Sessions
3–5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart is standard.
Aftercare

Simple steps that protect the result.

  • Bland cleanser and rich moisturizer for the first 5 days.
  • Mineral SPF every day; strict sun avoidance for two weeks.
  • No retinoids, acids, or scrubs for one week.
  • Do not pick — let the sandpaper texture shed on its own.
  • Avoid heavy sweat, saunas, and pools for 48 hours.
